The Mr. and I got into a big discussion over organic vs not organic, chemicals, clean living, etc. Reading things like Skinny Bitch, watching videos such as The Toxic Baby and  Robyn O’Brien on TEDtalks and thinking about all of the chemicals we’re exposed to nowadays that our grandparents never knew makes me want to go find a cabin in the woods somewhere and become a hermit.   Regardless of what you believe when it comes to fluoride (and trust me, there have been studies on both sides of the fence) I am personally in search of a more organic, natural home. Fluoride has been known to cause issues with your thyroid and pineal gland. Regardless of the studies, I want to minimize my families exposure to all chemicals that are not naturally occurring. So bit by bit I am replacing our beauty products and cleaning supplies with all natural, homemade versions. (more…)

  Have you ever had an idea, lurking in the back of your mind, that all of a sudden becomes something completely unavoidable? Then over a series of days, you keep finding input from different places about this very same idea? I came across an interesting article from Organic Authority the other day that backed up an opinion I already had about laundry detergent. My ex-husband had very sensitive skin. We tried detergent after detergent, even the ones designed for sensitive skin. No matter what, he would break out across his chest and back in a painful and annoying rash. (more…)
