The idea of throwing a party is great fun.

You can get your nearest friends and family over and have an evening of socializing, drinking wine, eating delicious food, and just enjoying each other’s company.

While this is true, once the day slowly rolls around you might find that the idea of a dinner party is rather stressful.

After all, there are many things that you need to consider when throwing a dinner party.

If you are starting to stress, have no fear for there are things you can do to ease this.

Here are some top dinner party tips that should make it that little bit easier…

Get as much prepped the day before

One of the best things to do before a dinner party is to get as much prepared ahead of time as you can.

When you have guests round you don’t want to be slaving away in the kitchen.

Pick meals that you can prepare before they arrive then when they are here, you just need to pop it in the oven and plate it up.

A pie or a pasta bake recipe is a good example of this as you don’t need to do anything once it has been prepared and it can easily be made ahead of time.

It also means you have time to clean your kitchen – from the floors to make sure you clean the krud out of your microwave

Have enough food and drink

When you have guests round, the last thing you want is to not have enough food or drink.

One of the top tips is to ensure you over order, this way you don’t have the embarrassment of running out halfway through.

Usually, guests tend to bring a bottle with them, but it is best to be prepared just in case this doesn’t happen!

Ask about dietary requirements well ahead of time

You want to ensure that you don’t cook something that guests are allergic or intolerant to.

Be sure that you ask everyone if they have any dietary requirements ahead of time – this will avoid any awkward conversations or you having to run to the shop last minute to find something that a certain person can eat.

They will appreciate it and you will feel much happier knowing you are covered on all bases.

Think of how you will lay the table

Will you have a tablecloth? Centerpiece?

Depending on how fancy you are going, you might want to lay the table in a different way to how you normally do.

Think of this ahead of time and ensure you have everything you need to make this happen.

These are just a few simple ways that you can make your dinner party that bit better.

This should leave you to just enjoy the evening ahead of you and have fun.

Ensure you eat plenty, pick a great playlist and just have fun!
